A beautiful curtain-light display starts with a tape measure. Before choosing a design or a pack size, check the space you want to decorate and the full dimensions of the light set. A length option alone does not tell you the height, cable reach or hanging arrangement.
Measure the display, not just the window
Write down the usable horizontal span and the vertical drop. For a window, decide whether the lights will sit inside the frame or surround it. Leave room for handles, blinds and normal opening. For a railing, measure the section you actually intend to cover rather than the full balcony perimeter.
Next, measure the route from the intended controller position to a suitable power outlet. Follow the route the cable will take around furniture and frames. A straight-line measurement can underestimate the distance.
Convert meters to feet
The XmasGlow product page offers 2 m and 3 m length selections. These conversions help when measuring a US home; they are not a substitute for a complete product dimension drawing.
- 2 meters: approximately 6 feet 7 inches.
- 3 meters: approximately 9 feet 10 inches.
Confirm which dimension the listed length describes before ordering. For example, a 6-foot-wide window is approximately 1.83 m wide, but that measurement by itself does not establish whether a particular 2 m light set will fit. You still need the hanging width, drop and mounting requirements.
Choose the length before choosing the pack
One set is a sensible starting point for one focal area. Multiple sets can serve separate windows or different rooms. The XmasGlow packs contain 1, 2 or 3 sets of the selected length, and the displayed price is the total pack price.
A pack of two does not automatically mean the sets connect into a single wider display. Do not assume shared power, synchronized effects or end-to-end connection unless the model's instructions explicitly support them. Compare the total and per-set price for your chosen variant.
Keep a simple measurement note
- Location and whether it is indoors or exposed to weather.
- Available width and drop, in inches or centimeters.
- Distance and safe cable route to the outlet.
- Mounting surface and any rental restrictions.
- Number of separate areas to decorate.
